Diaries and letters of Gen. and Mrs. William Booth Taliaferro [manuscript], 1822-1898.

Collection includes four volumes of diaries and letters. The first is the diary and letters of Gen. Taliaferro during the Mexican War, 1847-1848, along with a diary kept at "Dunham Massie" in Gloucester County, Va., from 1871-1890. The next is Mrs. Taliaferro's diary in two volumes, dates ranging from 1859-1899. The last is a volume of letters and notes pertaining to the Taliaferros, with notes on the Lyons family. Also included are three individual letters: H.O. Harris to Mrs. Taliaferro on behalf of Confederate soldiers, 1861 December 15; Jefferson Davis to James Lyons of Laburnum, 1862 September 1; and Henry A. Wise to Gen. Taliaferro, 1864 January 31.
